Northrop Grumman's Corporate Office is seeking a Human Resource (HR) Business Partner (BP). Located in Falls Church, VA this HRBP will serve as a strategic partner to leadership, focusing on aligning HR initiatives with business objectives while handling employee relations matters as an adjunct member of the Employee Relations (ER) Center of Excellence (CoE).
This role is essential in fostering a high-performance culture and enhancing workplace morale within the organization.
Responsibilities include:
Support a CIDO client group(s) through collaboration with leadership to understand business needs and develop HR strategies that drive organizational performance and engagement
Serve as the primary coordinator for employee relations issues, providing guidance on conflict resolution, and grievance procedures
Under ER CoE management oversight, conduct thorough employee relations investigations into employee complaints, develop discipline recommendations in consultation with ER, and write case closure reports
Provide training and resources to leadership on employee relations topics, conflict management, and compliance with employment laws
Promote proactive and positive employee relations practices across the organization to drive engagement and change, and to manage risk to the organization
Provide input and insights into site trends, escalating as appropriate
Develop and implement practices and initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture and align with best practices while complying with federal and state employment laws
Analyze HR metrics and workforce data to inform strategic decision-making and identify improvement opportunities in employee engagement and retention
Provide training and resources to leadership on employee relations topics, conflict management, and compliance with employment laws
Support talent management initiatives, including workforce planning, training and development, and succession planning
Partner with managers to facilitate effective communication and address employee concerns, promoting a culture of transparency and trust
Lead change management processes and support organizational transformation initiatives in conjunction with leadership
Stay updated on trends in employment legislation and best practices in HR and employee relations to continuously improve organizational policies and practices
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, and at least 6 years of proven experience in HR Business Partner roles, employee relations, or related field; or Master's degree and 4 years of related experience
Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws and regulations, particularly related to employee relations
Proven analytical communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
Training in investigation techniques is highly desirable
