About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth HR operations across multiple states, supporting compliance, employee relations, HR systems, and day-to-day HR functions.

The ideal candidate is organized, systems-driven, and confident managing multiple priorities while providing excellent internal customer service.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Manage unemployment claims across multiple states, including hearings as needed
  • Complete new hire reporting and submit required separation documentation
  • Maintain accurate electronic employee files and documentation
  • Process employment verifications
  • Audit ADP system data and approve leader-submitted changes
  • Conduct ADP employee profile audits and system corrections
  • Pull census, labor statistic, and related HR reports
  • Ensure policies are current, compliant, and properly distributed

Employee Relations & Employee Lifecycle

  • Manage employee relations intake and partner with coordinators
  • Oversee Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and action plans for salaried employees
  • Conduct salaried exit interviews and identify trends/action items
  • Draft and manage termination letters and Notices of Separation
  • Oversee Leave of Absence (LOA) processes and documentation
  • Partner with Legal as needed for complex employee matters
  • Support union-related matters

Talent & Onboarding Support

  • Assist with new hire processing and new business openings
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on background check results and follow-up
  • Support quarterly employee check-in processes with L&D

General Support

  • Respond to HR inquiries via phone and company email
  • Support HR team projects and initiatives
  • Complete additional assignments as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2–4 years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience working with ADP strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state HR compliance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Sound judgment and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with employee relations and documentation management
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision
