The Opportunity

This intermediate-level position within the Human Resources Department offers exposure to all facets of Human Resources. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will be a key player in essential operations that support our most valuable asset: our employees.

Your work will span multiple critical areas:

  • Benefits & Wellness: Guide employees through benefit options, process life events and terminations (including COBRA), coordinate leaves of absence, and manage our return-to-work program.
  • Classification & Compensation: Support job analyses, assist in developing new or revised job specifications, conduct vital salary surveys, and inform compensation processes.
  • Recruitment & Talent Management: Drive the hiring process from advertising and sourcing to onboarding, ensuring an ongoing pipeline of exceptional talent for Lake Havasu City.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Remain current with general labor law compliance, educate staff on regulatory requirements, and assist with risk management and workers’ compensation administration.
  • HRIS & Data Integrity: Work within Human Resources Information Systems (like Oracle) to manage employee data, ensure integrity, run reports, and analyze data to inform decision-making.
 

Who We Are Looking For

We need a proactive HR professional with the knowledge, skill, and ability to jump in and contribute immediately.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: An Associate/Technical degree in human resources or a related field PLUS considerable experience in Human Resources (HR) functions, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licenses: A valid Driver’s License is required to operate and maintain motor vehicles.
  • Certification: SHRM, SPHR or PHR Certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.  

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Safety Expertise: OSHA 30-Hour Training preferred.
  • System Knowledge: Specific experience with Oracle Fusion is highly desirable.
 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities We Value:

  • General knowledge of public administration HR principles, including EEO, recruitment, and benefits administration.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in research methods, data analysis, and standard software packages.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and maintain absolute confidentiality in sensitive matters.
  • Strong organizational skills, integrity, and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, vendors, and the public.
