SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: The Employee Relations Manager will support Building and department leaders with all aspects of employee relations, specializing in benefits. Provides support to staff and District leaders on benefits processing, required reports, and support to staff. Provides protocols and processes to ensure a consistent approach to the management of benefits. This position will act as a liaison to both administration and employees as needed regarding benefit related questions and concerns to support a positive and inclusive work environment for all.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
QUALIFICATIONS:
•A minimum of five (5) years of Human Resources experience required with a focus on Employee Relations strongly preferred.
•Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning employee relations including but not limited to COBRA, FMLA, MPLA, SNLA, ADA, Chapter 71, and Workers’ Compensation.
•Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies to complex benefits specific employee relations issues.
•Must demonstrate strong skills in both written and verbal communications; including a demonstrated ability to stay calm and remain tactful in difficult/challenging situations
•Thorough understanding of dispute resolution and an ability to maintain confidentiality.
•Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and proactively analyze and resolve problems while maintaining a strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
•Must demonstrate an ability to be analytical, strategic, and diplomatic self-motivated and flexible with an ability to set priorities and work with limited supervision.
•Must demonstrate an ability to maintain a professional and inclusive workplace atmosphere.
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Frontline, Aspen and MUNIS strongly preferred. An independent willingness to upgrade skills as necessary is expected.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Provide strategic support and direction regarding benefits including wellness activities for staff.
•Oversee/manage the processes and procedures related to benefits.
•Completing, overseeing and/or otherwise assisting with internal and external reporting as it related to benefits.
•Coordinates events and informational sessions for staff as it relates to benefits as needed.
•Manages internal processes and required reporting as it related to annual ACA reporting.
•Provides guidance to all stakeholders regarding District policies, procedures and regulations as they relate to employment.
•Provides support for employee leaves of absence including but not limited to: Workers Compensation, FMLA, SNLA, Parental Leave and all other type of contractual and non-contractual leaves of absence.
•Gather and analyze data to develop recommendations and strategies to facilitate positive employee relations and engagement.
•Work closely with building and department leaders to identify opportunities to proactively and preventatively address common benefits related employee relations related concerns/issues.
•Supervises/evaluated staff as directed/assigned.
•Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
•Non-Union, 12-month Year position
•Salary: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00
•PHYSICAL DEMANDS (Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing): Frequent fine motor use such as typing, filing. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, as needed. May lift, push, pull up to 20 lbs. Travel between school locations throughout the workday as needed.
•SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Frequent overtime or night work required, etc.): May need to attend after school hours training, events and/or meetings on occasion and as scheduled.
•OVERTIME ELIGIBLE: No
•REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Human Capital Services, Superintendent or designee
