Bilingual HR Manager

  

The Bilingual Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the HR team, managing daily HR operations, and partnering with the HR Director to develop and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy. This role includes recruiting, training, performance evaluations, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.


LOCATION: Itasca, Illinois


Responsibilities:

  1. Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise HR Generalists, HR Intern, and Office Coordinator, with potential for more direct reports as the company grows.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

2. HR Strategy and Operations

  • Partner with the HR Director to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy by focusing on current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning as well as supporting the employee engagement committee. 
  • Oversee and provide support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff on complex, specialized, and sensitive issues; administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, overseeing investigations, and terminations.
  • Mentor and develop the HR team.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, especially for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

3. Learning and Development

  • Facilitate learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

4. Compliance and Best Practices

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Keep abreast of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Facilitate open enrollment and manage day to day benefit inquiries.

5. Additional Duties

  • Supporting payroll with the potential of owning the process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements
  • Requirements:
  • College degree preferred, SHRM and/or PHR certification a plus
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Human Resources with at least 1 year supervising a team
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll, employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS (Paylocity)

  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
