What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $95,000.00 - $110,000.00/year, based on experience and education.  We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site three days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

What You’ll Do

The Office of Human Resources (OHR), DEN HR Service Team is seeking an influential, strategic, and customer service-focused Senior HR Business Partner to join our team and support Denver International Airport. You will collaborate with organization leaders to reframe business challenges through the lens of the overall employee experience. This is a high impact role utilizing talent insights and organization data to help leaders develop and execute a strategic people agenda.

A successful candidate will be a forward-facing advisor to business leaders, expert at developing cross-team collaborative partnerships and building effective relationships, and be passionate about solving complex workforce challenges with data-informed decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and consult with junior to senior leaders within the DEN Agency to build morale, increase productivity, improve teamwork relationships, and improve staffing and retention
  • Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with other leaders within the DEN Agency from various functional areas
  • Partner with various DEN Agency divisions to understand their unique complexities and to develop strategies and initiatives that promote a culture of equity and engagement
  • Oversee and coordinate Workers’ Compensation processes and assignments for the DEN Agency, ensuring timely and accurate case management
  • Be the primary point of contact for HR programs, tools, metrics, and analytics impacting your organization
  • Build collaborative partnerships with the OHR Centers of Excellence including Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Classification, Learning and Development, and Benefits to recommend and inform of business solutions
  • Provide and utilize data analytics to support the organization with making appropriate business decisions affecting personnel, and utilize analytics to tell our human capital story
  • Research, develop, and execute innovative HR solutions that deliver measurable and sustainable business results
  • Execute HR strategies, initiatives and practices that promote a strong performance culture emphasizing engagement, learning and development, talent management, and workforce planning
  • Effectively advise and manage employee and labor relations issues and investigations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for candidates that have all or some of the following skills and experience:

  • At least 5 years working as an HR Professional for a complex organization
  • At least 5 years of experience managing and investigating employee relations issues
  • Experience guiding workforce planning and organizational development initiatives
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong business acumen and Excel skills
  • Ability to build professional relationships with a variety of people, at all levels of the organization
  • Experience providing and receiving feedback to/from leaders and employees

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Experience: Five (5) years of professional human resources experience
  • Education & Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post school education.  Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
