Summary:
The Employee Relations Consultant engages in a variety of employee relations issues and responsibilities. The Employee Relations Consultant supports a positive work environment by providing guidance to both management and employees on key labor laws such as the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. Reporting to the Manager of Employee Relations, this role involves mediating disputes to ensure fairness, assisting managers with performance challenges, and helping to boost employee satisfaction and maintain organizational integrity.Responsibilities:
Training Support: Co-facilitates training sessions designed to assist leaders in effectively managing employee work performance and behavior.Policy and Compliance Guidance: Learns and helps interpret company policies, ensuring adherence to labor laws.Conflict Resolution: Assists with conflict resolution, which may involve facilitating or mediating difficult escalated conversations.Analysis and Recommendations: Conducts root cause analysis and provides recommendations regarding policy changes, development, and interpretation to ensure consistent application across the organization.Grievance Process Management: Supports the entire employee grievance process, from initiation to closure, managing all communication, documentation, and tracking.Documentation and Confidentiality: Maintains appropriate documentation in a case tracking system and conducts all job aspects with an appropriate level of confidentiality and sensitivity to employees and organizational data, including secure document storage and disclosing information only on a need-to-know basis.Case Management and Analysis: Manages multiple simultaneous cases while maintaining detailed records, providing related analytical data, and analyzing trends to determine appropriate next steps.Competencies:

Complexity of Work: Compliance: Understanding of HR principles and labor laws. Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.Case Management: Capable of managing multiple cases simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail in record keeping.Relationship Building: Ability to build rapport, maintain collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders, and communicate sensitive information clearly and actively (verbal and written). Adaptability: Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced or high-stress environment.Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using current office software, technology, and relevant computer applications. Familiarity with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and case management software. Required Work Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Human Resources/Employee Relations.
