We are looking for a temporary Employee Relations Coordinator who will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources function in Central Casting. This role will complete all assignments relating to talent relations matters and workplace investigations, from inception to case conclusion. This includes documentation and reports, responding to talent questions and requests, and researching situations that have occurred with background talent and making disciplinary decisions accordingly.  This is a demanding and fast-moving position that requires someone who can exercise good judgment and handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism. This role is client and background actor interfacing.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist the Human Resources function in Central Casting.
  • Support Talent Relations with background talent questions and cases.
  • Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of casting processes and policies.
  • Handle a high volume of correspondence from casting staff and background talent. 
  • Lead professional phone and virtual interviews with involved parties
  • Prepare clear, well-organized case summaries and documentation related to investigations.
  • Follow disciplinary guidelines and partner with Production and Studio HR contacts, to address and resolve talent concerns. 
  • Notify talent of disciplinary action via suspension and termination notices.
  • Input disciplinary action into the casting system.
  • Review suspensions and remove talent from suspension once they have served their suspension.
  • Track case progress through timely resolution in a high-volume environment Assist in managing and maintaining background talent employment files.
  • Process talent sick pay requests; investigate the request, confirm eligibility for sick pay, facilitate the request accordingly.
  • Other administrative duties and projects as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-3; years of Human Resources or related experience.
  • aPHR/PHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Employee Relations experience, preferably in an entertainment, hospitality, retail or other service environment.
  • Film/Television industry experience not required, but a plus.
  • Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly flexible, able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information in a discrete manner.
  • Excellent client service / people skills- ability to work with many different personalities.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Supporter of company procedures and values.
  • Quickly grasps new concepts and ideas and the willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with superior attention to detail, and the ability to organize and express ideas clearly.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word & Excel, and Power Point.

The hourly range for this position is $40.00 and will be commensurate with experience related to the position.
