We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Employee Relations Specialist to join the team.

In this role you’ll partner with supervisors and employees at the manufacturing site to support employee relations, coach leaders, enhance the work environment, and promote strong HR best practices. This is an opportunity to work hands on in a growing facility with meaningful influence on culture and retention.

What You’ll Do as the HR Employee Relations Specialist:

  • Act as the primary liaison between employees and management to investigate concerns, provide counseling, support discipline/separation and escalation to corporate HR.
  • Walk the facility periodically to engage with employees, respond to questions, assess the environment and surface issues proactively.
  • Advise supervisors on labor law compliance, company policy and procedure, and coach them on HR related processes.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation, training programs, annual performance reviews (in collaboration with corporate HR), and exit interviews; recommend retention strategies and improvements to the employee experience.
  • Educate employees about benefits year round and during open enrolment; ensure required labor law posters and company materials are displayed and current.

Must Haves as the HR Employee Relations Specialist:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related field.
  • At least 2 years’ relevant experience in employee relations or a closely related HR role, preferably in manufacturing, construction, engineering or field operations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Able to exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality, and thrive in a dynamic, fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams and Outlook, and comfortable using PCs, tablets and smartphones.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Nice to Haves as the HR Employee Relations Specialist:

  • Prior HR experience in a manufacturing or modular construction environment.
  • Experience coaching supervisors, leading HR training, or driving retention/engagement initiatives in a multi craft or cross functional workforce.
  • Familiarity with unionized environments or large scale site operations.
