Job Summary

The Employee Relations Specialist 1 is an entry-level ER professional who supports the Caliber Teammate Relations Center of Excellence (TR COE) team. This role assists in the management and resolution of low-to-moderate complexity workplace issues and provides administrative support. Working closely with TRCOE Team, leadership and Human Resource Business Partners(HRBPs), the Specialist ensures compliance, aids in investigations, and fosters a positive work environment, thereby enhancing the company culture and supporting our purpose of Restoring the Rhythm of Your Life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teammate and Manager Support: Serve as an initial point of contact for teammates and management regarding possible issues concerning company policies, procedures, and workplace violations. Assist in the management and triage of cases from the Caliber Ethics Line.

  • Case Management: Assist in documenting and tracking teammate relations cases within Workday and HR Acuity. This includes maintaining accurate and confidential records and preparing case summaries.

  • Investigations: Support Employee Relations Partners and TR COE in basic review into teammate/manager complaints. This may include gathering initial information, scheduling interviews, organizing documentation and the handling of lower risk level teammate relations cases.

  • Policy Guidance: Help interpret and explain company policies to teammate and managers, ensuring everyone understands their rights and responsibilities.

  • Compliance: Stay up to date on federal, state, and local employment laws and assist in ensuring the company's practices are compliant.

  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the TR COE team, including preparing reports, creating presentations, and managing departmental files.

  • Collaboration: Work with the broader HR team and other departments to support a positive and productive work culture.

  • Termination Support: Coordinate and process involuntary and voluntary separation paperwork and logistics, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; or a combination of relevant professional certifications and extensive work experience demonstrating comparable knowledge and skills.

  • 1–2 years of experience in an HR Business Partner or Employee Relations (ER) role and foundational knowledge of federal and state employment laws

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism. Able to have a high level of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with case management systems. Experience with Workday and HR Acuity case management systems is preferred.

  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
