HR Coordinator

Summary/Objective

The purpose of this position is to provide day-to-day support for all human resources activities, including but not limited to recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and safety under the supervision of the HR manager. 

Essential Functions

1. Manage the onboarding process for new hires and maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
2. Assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, and fixing processing errors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
3. Lead HR support to operations safety programs, initiatives and processes including but not limited to leading safety committees, participating in safety walks, implementing safety action plans, return to work, and coordination of workers compensation programs.
4. Develops proactive communications, employee relations/recognition and appreciation programs.
5. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. 
6. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, enrollment, retirement, etc.), and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
7. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance and presenting recommendations to HR Manager.
8. Any/all other duties as assigned. 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing/office environment. Must be able to operate a computer/keyboard, ability to use phone, and sit for extended periods of time. Communicate using speech, hearing, written, and vision skills. May also work occasionally on the production floor requiring the use of safety equipment to include, but not limited to- safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed work boots or shoes.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. General business hours are 6:30 am- 5:00 pm. this position follows a specific work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 am- 4:30 pm. Occasional overtime, evening and weekend work may be required to meet business demands.

Compensation

Our current hiring pay range for this position is $20- $30. This hiring pay range is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills and certifications. 

In addition to this base pay, Rockford Ball Screw employees are eligible for a bonus. Depending on your position you may be categorized into different tiers in the quarterly or annual bonus plan. Currently, this position is classified as a Quarterly Bonus within the Individual Contributor tier.

Required Education and Experience

1. Must be 18 years or older.
2. High School Diploma/GED equivalent or significant relevant work experience. 
3. Minimum of 1 year of human resource experience serving 25+ employees.
4. Minimum of 1 year experience with HRIS, Paylocity preferred.
5. Minimum of 1 year experience handling employee records and HR documentation. 
6. Minimum of 1 year experience handling timecards. 
7. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
8. Strong knowledge with a variety of organizational concepts, practices, and procedures. 
9. Ability to multitask and prioritize workload. 

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Experience in assisting with recruitment, hiring processes and new employee onboarding.
2. Experience with handling employee inquiries, conflict resolution, or workplace investigations.
3. Experience with workplace safety policies and training.
