Role Overview
The Human Resources Coordinator serves as the local, customer-facing representative of the HR office, providing essential support to employees, managers, and the HR Business Partner team. This role is crucial for delivering initial HR support, coordinating local programs, and ensuring smooth administrative operations that cannot be handled virtually.
Position Details
- Location: Onsite, San Antonio, Texas 78229
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Pay: $25.48/hr
Key Requirements / Must-Haves
- Education: Bachelor's degree Required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant professional role.
- Customer-Facing Experience: Demonstrated experience in a front desk or customer-facing role with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Technology Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Organizational Skills: Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage complex tasks efficiently.
- Event Coordination: Experience coordinating meetings, employee events, or similar activities.
- HR Acumen: Basic knowledge of employment law and the absolute necessity of maintaining confidentiality in an HR role.
Major Responsibilities
- Employee Support & Service Model:
- Act as the first point of contact for routine employee HR inquiries.
- Guide employees to the appropriate self-service portals and HR service centers for transactional support.
- Raise employee and manager awareness regarding available HR programs and resources.
- Respond appropriately to time-sensitive HR issues and support emergency response plans.
- HR Program & Event Coordination:
- Coordinate and support local employee engagement and community events, including recognition and service award programs.
- Distribute HR communications and provide logistical support for Employee Activity Groups.
- Assist with the implementation of facility/department action plans derived from employee engagement surveys.
- HR Operational Excellence:
- Maintain confidential Employee Relations data and ensure compliance with HR policies and processes.
- Support local hiring processes, including facilitating onsite interviews and assisting with new employee orientation and content delivery.
- Assist with the logistics of learning and development activities and benefits enrollment informational sessions.
- Produce standard reports on HR metrics from core HR systems as required by leadership.
- Manage tasks that cannot be performed remotely, such as assisting employees with local paperwork for Return-to-Work from Leaves of Absence or Workers' Compensation.
- Gather information for and help prepare for compliance audits (e.g., legal postings).
