HR Generalist

 

This role will work closely with the CEO to implement and process HR functions within the organization. The HR Generalist will assume a variety of HR responsibilities including but not limited to recruiting, processing bi-weekly payroll, benefits administration, and compliance tracking.

 

Pay Range: $62,000 - $80,000 per year

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment for all staff positions

  2. Partner with 3rd party firms for key positions

  3. Process bi-weekly payroll

  4. Monitor and track sick and vacation time

  5. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, staff development and work assessments

  6. Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications

  7. Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

  8. Handles the reporting and maintenance of worker's compensation claims.

  9. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

  10. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  11. Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.

  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

Required:

  • 3 years of HR experience across a range of HR sub-disciplines, especially in recruiting 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

 

Preferred:

  • Degree related to HR and/or a SHRM-CP credential

  • Experience with construction and/or office environment

  • Experience with Paylocity
