Job Summary
Reporting to the Employment Manager, this position will provide human resource expertise, exemplary service and strategic support and consultation to the assigned departments at Radford University. This position will also serve as the primary contact providing guidance, advice and assistance in various human resource functional areas to include employment, benefits, classification, and compensation for faculty, staff, and wage employees. This position requires strong customer service and solutions focused orientation, excellent communication skills, with the ability to support a diverse range of internal stakeholders in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated, relevant experience in human resources, public administration or business; - Considerable working knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of human resources management; - Ability to make independent decisions or make recommendations to resolve issues; - Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills; - Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds on all levels of the organization; - Demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information and materials; - Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply federal, state and university laws, regulations, policies and procedures; - Experience with current office software, like Microsoft Office and database programs to produce reports and analyze data to support departmental programs and initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive human resources experience in employment, benefits, classification, and compensation; - PHR / SPHR certification; - Experience with human resources information systems like PeopleAdmin, Banner, PMIS , BES ; - Relevant experience in higher education or state government; - Bachelor’s degree in business, human resource management, public administration or related field
