A mission-driven organization in the housing and community development space is seeking an HR Generalist to join its team. This role will report directly to senior HR leadership and support a small, collaborative HR team across multiple locations.

This position will begin at 20 hours per week through April, with the opportunity to transition to full-time hours starting in May.

Schedule & Location:

  • Fully remote
  • Occasional travel required to local offices (Greater Boston area)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for open roles across the organization
  • Oversee FMLA and leave administration, ensuring compliance and proper documentation
  • Support and handle employee relations matters, providing guidance to managers and employees
  • Partner with HR leadership on policies, processes, and HR initiatives
  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation
  • Provide general HR support across multiple teams and locations

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of HR experience
  • Strong experience with employee relations and leave management (FMLA)
  • Experience in nonprofit or community-based organizations is a plus
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to local offices as needed
