About This Opportunity

As our HR Generalist, you’ll play a key role in supporting the full scope of human resources operations, with primary responsibility for payroll and benefits administration. Working within our Human Resources Department, this role ensures employees are paid accurately, supported effectively, and experience consistent, high-quality HR service.

This position combines technical expertise with a strong service mindset, contributing to a positive employee experience while maintaining compliance and operational excellence. You’ll partner closely with the Associate Director of HR, supporting day-to-day operations while contributing to broader HR initiatives and organizational continuity.

Your work directly supports our mission by helping create a stable, responsive, and well-managed workplace for employees across the organization.

 

 

What You'll Accomplish

  • Process and manage bi-weekly payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and contract employees using iSolved HCM
  • Administer employee benefits programs through Employee Navigator, including enrollments, changes, open enrollment, and terminations
  • Maintain and audit payroll and benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity across HR systems
  • Support compliance efforts, including FLSA, ACA, COBRA, and other employment regulations
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and HR documentation
  • Support employee relations by addressing routine inquiries and escalating complex issues as appropriate
  • Assist with recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate coordination, and interview scheduling
  • Support onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a smooth and positive new hire experience
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures, and internal documentation
  • Troubleshoot HRIS issues, generate reports, and support system improvements and digital transformation initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of HR on departmental projects and process improvements
  • Contribute to cross-training, documentation, and knowledge sharing to support continuity and succession planning

 

 

What You Bring to This Role

You bring strong experience in payroll and benefits administration, along with a solid understanding of broader HR functions. You are detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage time-sensitive processes while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

You are approachable, responsive, and service-focused— able to communicate clearly with employees and provide support with professionalism and discretion. You work independently with sound judgment while also collaborating effectively with leadership and team members.

You take ownership of your work, contribute to continuous improvement, and are motivated to grow your HR expertise while supporting the long-term success of the department.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2–3 years of experience in payroll, benefits, or HR roles
  • Experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations, including FLSA, tax compliance, and multi-state payroll
  • Understanding of HR compliance, including ACA, COBRA, and general employment law
  • Experience with HRIS platforms; iSolved HCM and Employee Navigator preferred
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functions (employee relations, recruitment, or HR operations) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive work
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency with cloud-based systems such as Google Workspace and project management tools

Compensation

Anticipated annual Salary for this role is $50,000.
