What We Seek

We are seeking an HR Generalist to join our People team and play a key role in delivering an exceptional employee experience across the full employee lifecycle. As a trusted partner to employees and managers, you will manage day-to-day HR operations including onboarding and offboarding, benefits and leave administration, and policy implementation, while ensuring compliance and consistent application of people practices.


What Your Day Will Look Like

At Merit, the HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting core HR functions and ensuring the effective execution of people operations. The role focuses on maintaining accurate documentation, streamlining HR procedures, and ensuring programs are delivered efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with organizational objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys driving operational excellence across multiple HR disciplines.

In general, you can expect to:
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and orientation
  • Support employees with questions on benefits, payroll, and policies
  • Serve as liaison between employees and benefits providers
  • Help manage the performance review process, track goals, and guide managers and employees on performance improvement
  • Support the HR department in maintaining the day-to-day administrative functions requested by the business
  • Assist with workforce planning, employee development, and succession planning initiatives
  • Track training completion and compliance requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Assist with the internship program and recruitment efforts
  • Promote a positive, high-accountability culture aligned with firm values
  • Assist in the execution of HR strategies and initiatives

  • Have proven experience in, and passion for, supporting and serving employees to increase engagement, retention, and performance
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and organizational information
  • Have a continuous improvement and innovative mindset to see better ways of solving problems and achieve results
  • Are people oriented, results-driven, and business savvy
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
  • Have experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Have experience creating and tracking HR metrics
  • Possess knowledge and experience in labor law, HR best practices, and HR systems

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven high performer, with 1-4 years successful experience in Human Resources
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Technologically and business savvy, to include knowledge of HRIS, ATS and LMS system
