The HR Generalist is a mid-level, exempt professional reporting to the director of HR, responsible for providing comprehensive human resources support across multiple functional areas, including recruitment, employee relations, leave administration, training, and compliance. This role exercises sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive employee matters and advising leaders on HR practices. As a member of a small, collaborative HR team, the HR Generalist plays a hands-on role in supporting employees and leaders while ensuring consistent application of policies and compliance with employment laws.

This is a Hybrid Position in our Raleigh, NC office

Primary Job Duties

  •  Manage full-cycle recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and hiring recommendations.
  •  Independently administer employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations, in consultation with leadership and HR management.
  •  Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, including complaints, harassment allegations, and workplace conduct issues.
  •  Manage leave of absence (LOA) and workplace accommodation programs in coordination with external vendors and the Benefits Manager.
  •  Maintain and analyze employee data in the HRIS to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
  •  Support and administer core HR programs such as performance management, merit cycles, and annual benefits enrollment.
  •  Interpret and communicate human resources policies, procedures, and employment laws to employees and managers.
  •  Facilitate or deliver training programs to support compliance, performance, and professional development.
  •  Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations through proactive monitoring and documentation.
  •  Partner with leaders and cross-functional teams to support workforce planning and organizational initiatives.

  •  A strong background in handling privileged and confidential information with discretion and professionalism is required.
  •  Must be technically savvy with experience in Microsoft applications and HRIS systems; UKG a plus. 
  •  Must quickly become familiar with organizational terminology, key players, and programs.
  •  Must have the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize, and manage projects. 
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, including a pleasant demeanor and the ability to work with and relate to a variety of people and personalities.
  •  Must be able to remain pleasant, business-like, consistent, and unflappable under pressure. Flexibility and willingness to be part of a team is a must.

The salary range for this position in Raleigh is $75,000-$85,000/year; however, the salary offered may vary depending on skills, experience, and job-related knowledge.
