Resinall Corp, an Ergon company currently has an opening for an HR Generalist at our Severn, North Carolina location. The HR Generalist serves as the on-site HR representative for the Severn, North Carolina location, responsible for day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, and compliance while ensuring alignment with corporate HR strategy and initiatives. This role partners closely with the Plant Manager and HR Manager to support operational excellence, employee engagement, and consistent application of company policies and programs.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or 3-5 years of professional HR experience.
  • SHRM Certification is a plus

Responsibilities

The duties of the HR Generalist include, but are not limited to, those outlines in the following job functions. Other responsibilities may be added to or substituted should this become necessary.

Payroll & HR Transactions

  • Coordinate with Corporate Personnel/Payroll to submit time for weekly hourly payroll.
  • Manage HR transactions such as timekeeping, attendance, and data maintenance.
  • Ensure managers post schedules, approve PTO, and authorize timesheets.
  • Submit manual payroll adjustments and review payroll previews for accuracy.
  • Process employment status and wage rate changes for hourly positions.
  • Serve as point of contact for submitting HR system tickets for employee related matters.

Employee Relations & Policy Administration

  • Provide guidance on company policies and escalate complex issues.
  • Communicate employee information and unique situations to management.
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with FMLA and disability requests.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Post entry-level job openings, screen resumes, and work with hiring managers to source candidates.
  • Manage background checks, physical, drug screenings, and pre-employment paperwork.
  • Guide new hires through benefits selection (BSwift).
  • Assist with yearly Open Enrollment, including communicating changes and setting up meetings with employees to educate them on changes.
  • Assist with interviews for entry-level positions.
  • Prepare onboarding paperwork and schedules for a smooth new-hire experience.
  • Educate newly hired employees on HR policies and procedures.

Culture, Engagement & Community Coordination

  • Coordinate and support local participation in company-sponsored culture initiatives, recognition programs, and engagement events.
  • Partner with the HR Manager and the Hattiesburg location to ensure alignment and visibility between sites, including contributing updates and content for internal communications such as newsletters.
  • Facilitate local community outreach and engagement activities in coordination with corporate guidance and established initiatives.
  • Provide insight and feedback to the HR Manager regarding employee engagement trends, morale, and opportunities for cultural enhancement at the Severn location.

Strategic Initiative Support

  • Collaborate with the HR Manager in the rollout and execution of HR initiatives, policy updates, and organizational changes.
  • Provide local feedback and operational insight to support effective implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure consistent application of corporate HR standards while addressing site-specific needs in partnership with leadership.

General Support & Administrative Duties

  • Provide backup support for the front desk as needed.
  • Work closely with Corporate HR, Payroll, and Benefits departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of training and responsibilities
