Job Summary/Objective

Provide support and consultation to district employees for Human Resources programs, services, systems, and processes through the entire employee life cycle. Promote a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, promoting effective communication, and resolving conflicts.

Essential and Marginal Functions

Essential Functions/Duties

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:


 1. Provide service and consultation to employees and leaders regarding human resource matters, policies and processes 

 2. Manage the process regarding employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, and workplace investigations. 

 3. Partner with stakeholders to make recommendations to HR and District staff based on the analyzation of data, feedback from employees, and identification of trends.

 4. Manage and implement recommended changes to the worker’s compensation and leave of absence processes based on best practices.

 5. Interpret staffing data to identify trends and partner with the talent team to maintain appropriate staffing levels.

 6. Conduct on-site and event consultation and host employee training as needed to support district initiatives.

 7. Conduct new hire orientation, identify the onboarding training needs, and analyze surveys to evaluate trends.

 8. Maintains professional relationships with all staff members by providing quality customer service and upholding confidentiality.

 9. Support labor and union relations by building strong relationships across the district and responding to inquiries.

10. Maintains compliance with all employment laws including but not limited to FLSA, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and HIPPA. 

11. Conduct and host employee training as needed to support in district initiatives.

12. Provide individual, group, and on-site consultation with employees. 

13. Partner with HR Manager to enhance system optimization for process improvement.

14. Perform monthly audits and provide solutions for efficiency and ensuring data integrity.

15. Proactively works with HR department team members to identify, solve, and assist with concerns and opportunities.

Qualifications


 

Required

Preferred

Experience

One-three years’ human resources experience or related field

Experience in an urban educational setting preferred

Education

Four-year degree in Human Resources or related field OR 4 years professional level experience

  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred

Supplemental Information

Supervisory Responsibilities  
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
 
Other responsibilities: Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately.  Must be cognizant of human resources programs and policies, work in diverse situations, possess and demonstrate a positive approach to all issues and be a team player.
 
Travel Requirements  
Minimal day travel is expected for this position.  It is required to work frequently at all School District of Lancaster locations.
