Summary

The HR Generalist performs a wide range of administrative and strategic HR functions under the direction of the Senior Director of Administration. This role supports recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compliance, employee relations, and training. The HR Generalist serves as a role model in promoting a positive workplace culture and provides excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Support & Relations

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries from employees, contractors, and vendors
  • Explain HR and payroll policies and procedures clearly and accurately
  • Support employee relations, including conflict resolution and compliance with company policies

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Create and post job descriptions internally and externally
  • Review applicants and manage applicant tracking systems
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate hiring logistics
  • Prepare offer letters and facilitate background checks and drug screens
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ensure completion of I-9 verification and benefits enrollment
  • Maintain new employee files and onboarding documentation

Benefits & Compliance

  • Administer employee benefits and support open enrollment processes
  • Ensure compliance with FMLA, LOA, and short-term disability procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and support audits as needed

Training & Development

  • Coordinate training logistics including scheduling, reminders, and rosters
  • Support training program oversight and documentation
  • Assist in developing and delivering supervisor training materials

Systems & Reporting

  • Utilize HRIS platforms, specifically iSolved
  • Support HR systems implementations and process improvements
  • Generate reports and maintain HR metrics for leadership review

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3-10 years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or multi-site operations
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Attributes

  • SHRM or PHR certification
  • Experience supporting both manufacturing and office-based workforces
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
