About the Job:

The HR Generalist is responsible for a variety of cross-functional duties in the administration of human resources for the facility including talent acquisition, The HR Generalist is responsible for a variety of cross-functional duties in the administration of human resources for the facility including talent acquisition, onboarding, maintaining HR files and HRIS, benefits and compensation administration, training, employee recognition and engagement. Assists with day-to-day HR administration. Provides expertise and support in HR policy and procedure, employee relations, HR strategy, government and regulatory agency compliance, and employment law.

Roles and Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Manages processes connected with the recruiting, selection, and onboarding of new employees.

· Coordinates new hire and benefits orientation and employee training programs.

· Administers the benefits program ensuring timely enrollment of employees to health benefits and 401K.

· Explains and answers employee questions regarding benefit coverage, deductibles, coinsurance, etc.

· Ensures that all activities relating to the benefits programs are communicated throughout the company via newsletters, email correspondence, and/or memos and facilitates orientation sessions for employees.

· Assists in processing of leave benefits including FMLA, STD and LTD.

· Processes and monitors Worker’s Compensation and unemployment claims and coordinates services with third party administrators.

· Maintains current employee files and audits regularly for compliance. Tracks and ensures mandatory requirements such as licenses and training are timely competed.

· Accurately and timely enters new employee data and employee status changes into the HRIS.

· Coordinates all mandatory training classes to meet regulatory requirements. Tracks staff training on the Learning Management System.

· Assists with review of employee handbooks, policies and procedures and recommends changes or updates as needed.

· Provides coaching and consultation to managers, supervisors and other employees to help prevent and solve problems related to human resources.

· Assists in maintaining positive employee relations including organizing engagement and recognition activities.

· Performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas and interact directly with corporate employees with respect to planning, problem resolution, process improvement and reporting.

· Advises managers on performance management, workforce planning, compensation issues, recruitment, and onboarding activities.

· Prepares monthly reports to ensure all employees are in compliance with federal, state and licensing agency regulations.

· Acts as a liaison between the HR Department and Payroll Department regarding payroll deductions, timesheets, and various payroll reports.

· Complies with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintains regulatory and industry standards.

· Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

· Meets expectations as an exempt employee to work additional hours as required to meet facility needs and project deadlines.

· Accepts responsibility for professional growth and development of self and attends all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.

· Maintains professionalism and confidentiality of facility employees and clients.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business or related field required OR High School diploma plus related comparable experience.

· Three or more years’ experience in a progressively responsible HR role required.

· Knowledge of The Joint Commission, facility licensing standards and third-party payor requirements is beneficial to aspects of the job.

· Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws.

· Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, and external customers.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM SCP Certifications preferred.

WORK LOCATION:

This position is onsite and is not a remote position.
