Position Summary
The HR Generalist manages daily human resources operations and serves as a key point of contact for employees and management regarding HR policies, benefits, and compliance. This role supports a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR data administration. The HR Generalist helps ensure compliance with employment laws while contributing to a positive and productive workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Staffing
- Manage the full recruitment cycle including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and background checks.
- Coordinate with hiring managers to support staffing needs.
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
- Process employment documentation and maintain personnel records.
- Manage employee exit processes and conduct exit interviews.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and HR-related concerns.
- Support conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations when necessary.
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Assist with benefits administration and open enrollment activities.
- Support payroll processing and leave administration including FMLA and workers’ compensation as needed.
Compliance & Records Management
- Maintain employee files and HR records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Assist with HR audits and reporting.
Performance Management
- Support performance review processes and documentation.
- Assist with employee development and training initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of employment laws including FLSA and EEO regulations.
- Familiarity with HR best practices and HRIS systems.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Soft Skills
- High level of discretion with confidential information.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of HR experience in a generalist or similar role.
- HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR are a plus.
