Position Summary

The HR Generalist manages daily human resources operations and serves as a key point of contact for employees and management regarding HR policies, benefits, and compliance. This role supports a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR data administration. The HR Generalist helps ensure compliance with employment laws while contributing to a positive and productive workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Staffing

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and background checks.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to support staffing needs.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Process employment documentation and maintain personnel records.
  • Manage employee exit processes and conduct exit interviews.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and HR-related concerns.
  • Support conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations when necessary.

Benefits & Payroll Support

  • Assist with benefits administration and open enrollment activities.
  • Support payroll processing and leave administration including FMLA and workers’ compensation as needed.

Compliance & Records Management

  • Maintain employee files and HR records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assist with HR audits and reporting.

Performance Management

  • Support performance review processes and documentation.
  • Assist with employee development and training initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of employment laws including FLSA and EEO regulations.
  • Familiarity with HR best practices and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Soft Skills

  • High level of discretion with confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of HR experience in a generalist or similar role.
  • HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR are a plus.
