IMS is currently searching for a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of  HR Generalist.  The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and responsible in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, training, performance management, policy implementation. Develops recommends, establishes and communicates human resources services, programs and procedures which recognize and respond to the different needs and concerns of the IMS department. This individual will consistently maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all information to which they are given access, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting any non-compliance concerns, and aligning with the IMS'-policies and procedures. Instill the IMS mission, vision and values in the work performed.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops effective and cost-efficient recruitment strategies and screening for qualified applicants
  • Develops and maintains relationships with educational institutions, professional organizations, and community groups in order to identify potential applicants
  • Educates applicants and managers about IMS's hiring process through one-on-one meetings and group presentations
  • Ensures that hiring processes comply with IMS guidelines and policies by providing education to hiring authorities
  • Coordinates and administers new hire orientation along with HR Coordinator
  • Consults with department management regarding employee relations concerns and issues, such as management and employee rights and responsibilities and best practices designed to reduce conflict and litigation
  • Works closely with the HR Manager regarding performance management tools, corrective action plans, and effecting disciplinary actions, and coordinating legal review of proposed disciplinary actions
  • Works closely with the HR Manager assisting with conflict resolution, mediations, and advises management on the process and requirements of dispute resolution processes
  • Conducts new hire check ins
  • Assists HR Manager with Exit interviews as needed
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and system
  • Serves as back-up for the on-boarding of new employees
  • Serves as back-up for benefits administration as related to newly eligible employees and their benefits enrollment
  • Serves as back-up to the HR Coordinator as needed
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills - both oral and written

  • Knowledge and experience in developing and maintaining good vendor and customer relations

  • Knowledge of and skill in applying the principles, practices and procedures of human resources administration in the areas of recruitment and employment, compensation and classification, employee relations, and employee development and training
  • Knowledge of and skill in interpreting and applying state and federal statues and applicable rules and regulations related to the management of human resources
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and concepts and other analytical tools used in human resources processes
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 3-4 years human resources/management experience preferred
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources
