The Human Resouces Generalist will be responsible for handling the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department, including recruitment, onboarding, policy compliance, benefits administration, employee relations, and supporting project management with workforce-related matters. This role plays a key part in supporting company growth, maintaining a positive work culture, and ensuring compliance within the construction industry environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support recruitment and selection processes for field workers, administrative, and technical staff.

  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee experience.

  • Maintain and update personnel records and HR systems.

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and government regulations.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of internal policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate training, certifications, and professional development activities.

  • Support supervisors and managers with employee relations, disciplinary actions, and performance management.

  • Administer employee benefits including health insurance, paid leave, and other programs.

  • Prepare periodic HR reports for management.

  • Act as a liaison between employees and leadership, fostering a respectful, safe, and productive work environment.

  • Coordinate employee wellness initiatives and internal events.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar HR role within the construction industries.

  • Strong knowledge of local and federal labor laws.

  • Experience recruiting and managing field staff (laborers, technicians, supervisors).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to visit job sites or field operations as needed.
