DO & CO is looking for an HR Generalist, Bilingual (Spanish) to support our teams in providing business partnership, as well as developing people-related processes and solutions. This position will take place in Des Plaines, IL on-site, five days a week.  About DO & CO  We have a passion for hospitality culinary delights on every elevated floor and in the sky. We refine the classics, develop the unknown and grow constantly – sometimes beyond our own expectations.  Position Overview  The Human Resources Generalist serves as a partner to management and employees in our fast-paced airline catering environment. This role supports all aspects of the employee lifecycle while ensuring compliance with aviation industry regulations, food safety standards, and labor relations requirements. The ideal candidate will thrive in a 24/7 operational environment and possess deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within airline catering services.   Key Responsibilities  Employee Relations & Engagement  Serve as primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution  Conduct thorough investigations of employee complaints and workplace issues (for non-management roles)  Facilitate communication between management and staff across multiple shifts and departments  Partner with supervisors to address performance issues and implement corrective action plans  Support employee engagement initiatives and culture-building programs  Assist with grievance procedures and maintain positive labor relations environment  Compliance & Documentation  Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations  Maintain I-9 compliance and E-Verify processes for all employees  Support aviation industry-specific compliance requirements (TSA, FAA, USDA regulations)  Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data integrity  Prepare and submit required reports (EEO, OSHA, wage and hour compliance)  Process terminations for non-management roles including NCNS management and acknowledgement of quit notices  Compensation & Benefits Administration  Support leave of absence and the ADA interactive process with 3rd party administrator including communications and tracking of documentation  Process worker's compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work programs  Support performance review processes and merit increase recommendations  Safety & Risk Management  Partner with safety team to investigate workplace incidents and near-misses  Support development and implementation of safety training programs  Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and food safety standards  Coordinate drug and alcohol testing programs in accordance with DOT regulations  Maintain workers' compensation claims and facilitate medical treatment coordination  Support ergonomic assessments and workplace injury prevention initiatives    What we offer:   Competitive pay: $70,000 - $85,000 annually  Complimentary employee meal. Bilingual, Spanish speaker Be service-oriented, collaborative, creative and charismatic.  Excellent interpersonal skills that build trust and instill confidence.   Strong and effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas. both verbally and in writing. Bilingual is a plus.  Proactive, entrepreneurial, can operate resourcefully in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  Highly organized and diligent, pays attention to detail and follows through.  Knowledge of EEOC, ADA and employment laws.   Ability to manage multiple projects, meet and work effectively under time and resource constraints.  Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team.  Ability to connect deeply with people, maintain trust, and navigate sensitive issues with colleagues.  Ability to effectively deal with department heads and team members, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.    Diversity & Inclusion Statement DO & CO provides equal employment opportunities.
