Summary:
The HR Generalist provides essential support to the HR Manager and site leadership team. This role focuses on ensuring day-to-day HR operations run smoothly, including managing employee inquiries, assisting with recruitment, onboarding, training, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The HR Generalist serves as a key resource for employees and site leadership, supporting the HR Manager in implementing HR strategies that foster a safe and positive workplace culture and enhance organizational performance. The HR Generalist is a full-time position and will work onsite from our Lowell, AR facility.
Core Functions:
- Safety
- In collaboration with the HR Manager and site leadership, you hold shared responsibility for the health and safety of all employees and visitors at your location. You are expected to actively lead and promote safety initiatives and a culture of well-being across the organization. This includes partnering closely with the HR Manager and Director of Safety to ensure all safety protocols are implemented accurately and timely, actively serving as a member of the site’s Safety Committee, and participating in daily safety walks.
- HR Support
- Support the HR Manager in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with site objectives and business needs. Assist with collecting and organizing
data for HR metrics and reports to facilitate process improvements, and update the site-specific HR scorecard as instructed.
- Provide administrative assistance to the HR Manager in areas such as recordkeeping, compliance documentation, and HR reporting.
- Manage and audit the HRIS to ensure employee data is accurate and up to date.
- Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
- Performs full-cycle recruitment including posting job openings, creating offer letters, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, conducting phone screens, and
participating in interviews when required.
- Coordinate pre-employment screenings, ensuring timely processing and communication of results.
- Schedules and facilitates the onboarding process, ensuring that new hires receive all necessary information and complete the required documentation.
- Manage the setup of employee profiles in HRIS, ensuring all necessary pre-employment, new hire, and onboarding documents are uploaded and records
are accurately maintained.
- Actively engage in community events such as career fairs, networking opportunities, and social media outreach to support talent acquisition efforts and
promote the company as an employer of choice.
- Employee Relations
- Serve as a first point of contact for employees with HR-related questions, directing more complex issues to the HR Manager as needed.
- Support the HR Manager with employee relations issues, maintaining confidentiality and a solutions-oriented approach.
- Compensation and Benefits
- Provide timely responses and support for day-to-day employee questions and concerns regarding pay, benefits, leave, and policy questions.
- Support the leave management process, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to company policies.
- Performs benefits administration to include promotion and increased participation in wellness program.
- Supports Workers Compensation cases as needed.
- Learning and Development
- Track employee training, certifications, and development plans, assisting in the creation and execution of training programs as directed by the HR Manager.
- Compliance
- Assist HR Manager in maintaining site compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including maintaining proper employee records and assisting with audits.
- Performance Management
- Assist the HR Manager in tracking performance review schedules, ensuring timely completion of evaluations and goal-setting processes.
- Maintain accurate records of performance management activities and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Organizational Culture
- Promote and integrate the company’s purpose, core values, and culture throughout the facility by coordinating employee engagement and Giving Back events. Utilize social media outlets to highlight our culture and foster relationships with community partners.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None, but may assist in training or guiding administrative staff as needed.
Education & Experience:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related degree, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years professional HR experience
Preferred:
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP Certification
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office and manufacturing environment. This role will routinely utilize standard office equipment to perform the core functions listed in this job description. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies as well as communicate verbally and electronically. The work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive reading to perform the core functions listed in this job description. However, while traveling, this position will require frequent tours of the company’s manufacturing facilities, which involve prolonged periods of walking, standing, and navigating various work areas while actively engaging with employees.
