Essential Responsibilities:
- Conducts, and sets up as needed, interviews professionally and sends hiring suggestions to upper management for approval.
- Successfully creates and/or oversees, inputs and or performs the recruitment and hiring process to include:
- Job postings, help wanted ads, website postings and tracking needs for employment ads.
- Develops, changes and inputs the interview guides for the different positions within the company.
- New hire orientation, paperwork, processing, and reporting proficiently.
- The application and background check process in a timely manner.
- Administers and oversees changes to the new hire packet documents and any other employee and company related forms efficiently.
- Professionally manages the temporary workforce company and effectively addresses any issues related to that company or its associates with the representative. Includes quoting out temporary agency services in a timely manner when needed.
- Processes necessary communications to employees via systems chosen by the company such as Gainshare (GS), Plex bulletin board/time clocks, mailers to the home, etc.
- Effectively coordinates part-time workforce including: summer, co-ops, and internships.
- Processes and/or oversees attendance tracking and warnings adequately.
- Directs employees needing to utilize the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to the coordinating company if needed and accurately processes all the documentation pertaining to FMLA and personal leave requests.
- Oversees and adequately guides management on disciplinary actions for employees when needed.
- Effectively maintains, administers, scans, and tracks all 90 day, 6 month and annual evaluations and communicates raises to payroll when needed after VP approval.
- Processes unemployment claims and hearings in a timely manner when necessary.
- For all insurance benefits, including clinic, for employees, ensures all the following are accurately completed and timely: new hire and open enrollment including all supporting documents for dependents; changes (following qualifying event rules when applicable); employee questions and/or problems; terminations from benefits; porting of any insurance benefits after termination; coordinates and oversees the Wellness initiatives and programs; accurately balance monthly invoices for headcount and payments.
- Effectively manages 401k enrollment, beneficiary forms, processes loans and hardships as well as answers and directs employees on questions pertaining to their account.
- Promotes the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to management and employees when needed. Assists in resolving employee and management conflict effectively and when needed.
- Accurately manages the uniform program including orders, changes and weekly invoicing.
- Manages and supports Commercial Drivers License (CDL) driver’s paperwork and files including new hire paperwork, paying tickets, and sending needed paperwork to the Department of Transportation (DOT) in a timely manner.
- Actively serves on various committees bringing new ideas and suggestions to the table and completing any assignments pertaining to role in the committee.
- Executes and oversees drug and alcohol program including, randoms (CDL and regular), new hires, reasonable cause, and post accident.
- Successfully performs exit interviews and relays the information to the appropriate personnel to get issues addressed.
20. Prepares and processes letters to employees and ex-employees for multiple reasons in a professional manner.
21. Proficiently makes suggestions on improving company policies and procedures and generates the manual updates related to those changes.
22. Processes employee concerns or issues and investigates and researches the needed information to accurately answer the concern or question.
23. Supervise and lead the staff members assigned under this position.
24. Successfully supports surrounding school activities:
- Runs and facilitates career and job fairs at the surrounding schools.
- Communicates with the surrounding vocational schools and career centers for future potential candidates.
25. Successfully coordinates and takes minutes for Shop Talk with accuracy and adds needed items to the suggestion system.
26. Researches and answers any suggestion assigned in a timely manner.
27. Effectively relays and researches changes in HR law to the HR Manager as needed.
28. Ensures the updates to the company employment posters in a timely manner.
29. Creates and organizes annual employee attendance awards, orders needed plaques (for Batesville Tool & Die (BTD) & Troqueladora Batesville de Mexico (TBM)), clocks, jackets and chamber bucks.
30. Organizes and successfully plans employee retirements: luncheons and dinners as needed.
31. Effectively backs up workers compensation administration.
32. Helps plan, coordinate and execute company events successfully
33. Setup, recruit and oversee outside activities to come into the company such as the annual blood drive, banks for financial assistance, Sam’s club, etc.
34. Oversees or performs employment verifications in a timely manner.
35. Assures company policies are being followed correctly for the department.
36. Actively backs up security system in absence of Safety & Training Coordinator.

39. Provide backup support for precise monitoring of payroll Time and Attendance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position responsible for supervising the HR administrative Assistant in the HR Department.
