Human Resources Generalist: Full Time

The HR Generalist is an integral part of MOSI providing support to the amazing, small yet mighty, staff who serve and educate our guests.
MOSI seeks a qualified candidate to be part of all the HR functions of this not-for-profit organization ranging from adopting policies to zeroing in on promoting a unique culture.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a resource to employees for HR questions
- Maintain HRIS with accurate and retrievable information
- Promote and endorse a unique MOSI culture
- Assign/conduct regular HR training sessions including harassment and safety
- Manage job postings utilizing a robust applicant tracking system
- Coordinate new employee screening, onboarding, orientation
- Evaluate and update: handbook, job descriptions, performance evaluation format, and policy development using tools available in current HRIS
- Manages volunteer program; coordinates applicants with Managers
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Plan, delegate, and organize tasks to consistently produce results, with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Working knowledge of HRIS, payroll, or database.
- Experience working with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
- Enjoys being part of a team; pulls own weight
- Preference to SHRM certified

MOSI is open 363 days a year. Employees may be required to work some special events which may fall on holidays, evenings, and/or weekends.

401(k) Retirement Plan
MOSI wants to help employees save for retirement. After six months of service, MOSI will contribute 3% of your salary to the plan and will match your employee contribution up to 4%.
