GTSC hiring a Human Resources Generalist. Will serve as a key partner to employees across core HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, onboarding, and engagement. This role is responsible for executing sensitive HR activities, providing strategic guidance to managers, and ensuring consistency in the application of policies and practices.

The ideal candidate brings a proactive, people-first mindset and deep working knowledge of employment law, benefits, and workplace investigations.

This position is 100% onsite Monday - Friday in Chantilly, VA.


Responsibilities:

  1. Draft and coordinate final approval for HR Action Forms (HRAFs), ensuring appropriate documentation is included for approval.
  2. Address and/or route employee relations matters including employee complaints and conflict resolution, escalating EEO and discrimination complaints to HR management.
  3. Review offer letter request packages and draft/send offer letters where appropriate.
  4. Conduct new hire orientation sessions and track attendance to ensure compliance and engagement.
  5. Schedule and conduct exit interviews and provide summaries to HR management.
  6. Attend employee termination meetings to ensure compliance, support, and documentation accuracy.
  7. Coordinate final payroll compliance steps during offboarding in collaboration with Payroll.
  8. Assist employees with processing Qualifying Life Events (QLE) and understanding benefits options during open enrollment and throughout the plan year.
  9. Provide guidance to Program Managers (PM) and Deputy Program Managers (DPM) on disciplinary actions, documentation, and corrective action steps.
  10. Assist PM/DPM with creation and review of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), ensuring alignment with policy and documentation standards.
  11. Advise PM/DPM on complex employment law topics and escalate as needed for legal review.
  12. Draft, track, and report on key HR metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
  13. Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party providers, ensuring timely reporting and case follow-up.
  14. Support and implement employee engagement and wellness initiatives to enhance workforce morale and retention.
  15. Monitor compliance with SCA requirements and ensure employment actions meet contract standards.
  16. Monitor federal, state, and local labor law changes and update HR processes accordingly.
  17. Conduct annual audits to ensure adherence to internal policies, federal/state requirements, and best practices.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

  1. 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a generalist, HRBP, or related role.
  2. Proven expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations.
  3. Working knowledge of SCA, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and other applicable employment laws.
  4. Experience managing workers' compensation claims and employee safety matters.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, advise, and influence across levels.
  6. Excellent communication, documentation, and follow-through skills.
  7. Proficiency in HRIS and applicant tracking systems; experience with tools such as SharePoint, iSolved, or similar preferred.
  8. High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality.
  9. Strong organizational and project management skills.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to commute and work in-office daily.
  2. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  3. Occasionally required to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
  4. Must be able to communicate effectively in both in-person and virtual work environments.
  5. Ability to manage repetitive tasks and maintain focus in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Pay Range: $65,000.00 - 75,000.00
