Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and day-to-day employee support
Facilitate new hire orientation and training to ensure a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience
Partner with the Talent Development Director to maintain employee handbooks, policies, and HR forms
Coordinate and administer annual compliance and benefits-related training (anti-harassment, open enrollment, required notices, etc.)
Lead benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and employee education
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and former employee payroll and benefits questions
Assist with ESOP communication and provide required reporting and documentation
Prepare and maintain annual reporting for benefits, ESOP, and 401(k) programs
Payroll Administration
Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on schedule using Viewpoint
Review and approve timesheets, audit payroll data, and make necessary adjustments
Maintain employee payroll records, including compensation, benefits deductions, tax updates, and personal information changes
Process bonuses, special payrolls, terminations, and year-end adjustments
Prepare W-2s and quarterly/annual payroll tax filings
Submit payroll taxes, 401(k) deferrals, and HSA contributions in a timely and compliant manner
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations
Financial and Compliance Support
Perform payroll-related general ledger reconciliations and support month-end close
Review, code, and approve HR and payroll-related invoices
Assist with ESOP and benefits audits and annual reporting requirements
Meet monthly accounting deadlines and maintain accurate documentation
Insurance and Risk Management
Administer workers' compensation claims and coordinate with employees, managers, and carriers
Support annual insurance audits and reporting
Assist in maintaining vendor and broker relationships
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
Minimum of 5+ years of human resources experience with hands-on payroll and benefits administration.
ESOP experience preferred but not required.
Experience processing full-cycle payroll with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and benefits compliance requirements
Experience administering employee benefit programs, including enrollments and qualifying life events
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to support employees at all levels
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, attending meetings, or traveling.
Ability to stand, walk, and navigate active construction sites, sometimes over uneven terrain or in varying weather conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Ability to drive or travel by air for client meetings, project visits, conferences, and industry events.
