Overview
Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties has a temporary full-time opportunity for a People & Culture Generalist in Anaheim, CA.
The People & Culture Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with People & Culture management in supporting organizational objectives. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: compliance, employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, workers’ compensation, ergonomics, project management, and employment law compliance.

Qualifications

Licensure and/or Certification Requirements:
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Human Resources or Business-related field or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience required.
- Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources generalist experience preferred.
- Current or former experience within the health care industry preferred.

- Proven skills in problem-solving and decision-making with integrity in making difficult personnel-related decisions.
- Ability to communicate policy interpretations and decisions effectively.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.

- Ability to organize and prioritize highly detailed tasks in a fast-paced company culture.

- Escalates issues to Director, HR as appropriate.

- This position requires travel to other sites and locations; if using a personal vehicle to meet this requirement, a valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required.
- Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPOSBC locations and by all PPOSBC employees, and supporting these critical services is an essential job duty and fundamental responsibility of all employees.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions: Essential functions encompass the required tasks, duties, and responsibilities performed as part of the job and the reason the job exists.
- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for the organization; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
- Partners with People & Culture Leadership, employees, and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.
- Reviews and processes COS forms to ensure accurate employee data, timely approval, and compliance with internal policies and applicable employment laws.
- Tracks employment metrics (turnover, employee relations incidents, worker comp claims, ergo assessments, etc.).
- Works closely with management and team members to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Recognizes an emergency situation, takes timely and appropriate action.
- Reviews and approves all organization-wide job descriptions and analyzes exemption status.
- Assist in distributing and monitoring employee performance evaluations and ensure they are done in a timely manner.
- Manages and tracks all worker compensation claims from start to finish.
- Supports P&C Business Partners with employee relations investigations and related documentation, including data review, records analysis, and workplace compliance.
- Administers and processes all employee separations, in compliance with company policy and applicable laws
- Conducts ergonomic assessments, managing all requests to ensure employees feel supported.
- Conducts all employee exit interviews and analyzes data. Presenting all analyzed data on a monthly basis to P&C leadership.
- Escalating any employee relations issues to P&C leadership in a timely manner.
