Overview

The HR Generalist & Talent Acquisition Specialist supports all aspects of human resources while leading full-cycle recruiting for an aircraft manufacturing facility. This role partners closely with operations, engineering, quality, and leadership to attract, hire, and retain a skilled workforce in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. The position ensures compliance with employment laws, company policies, and industry standards while supporting a positive and productive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

    • Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles, including assemblers, inspectors, engineers, technicians, and leadership positions
    • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, job requirements, and staffing timelines
    • Develop and manage job postings in the ATS (e.g., iCIMS), job boards, and external recruiting platforms
    • Source candidates through agencies, referrals, job fairs, schools, and direct outreach
    • Screen resumes, conduct interviews, coordinate hiring panels, and facilitate offer approvals
    • Manage onboarding processes including background checks, drug screening, and orientation
    • Maintain strong relationships with staffing agencies and external recruiting partners
    • Track recruiting metrics and provide regular hiring updates to leadership

    HR Generalist Responsibilities

    • Serve as a trusted HR partner for employees and leaders across the plant
    • Support employee relations matters, including coaching, performance management, and corrective actions
    • Assist with investigations and ensure fair, consistent application of company policies
    • Administer HR programs including benefits enrollment, leave of absence, attendance tracking, and employee records
    • Support performance review cycles and employee development initiatives
    • Assist with training coordination, compliance training, and documentation
    • Maintain accurate personnel files and HRIS/ATS data in accordance with regulatory requirements

    Compliance & Manufacturing Environment Support

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.)
    • Support audits and documentation requirements related to FAA, AS9100, ISO, and customer standards
    • Assist with safety-related HR processes and coordination with EHS
    • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in a regulated aerospace manufacturing setting

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of HR Generalist and/or Talent Acquisition experience
  • Experience supporting hourly manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems

Preferred

  • Aerospace or aircraft manufacturing experience
  • High-volume hourly recruiting experience
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification
  • Experience with temp-to-perm or contract labor models
