SUMMARY STATEMENT
We are seeking an HR Generalist with a strong talent acquisition focus to support our agriculture-based organization. This role spends approximately 50% of time on recruiting and workforce planning and 50% on core HR generalist responsibilities, supporting both hourly and professional employees. The ideal candidate understands the unique workforce needs of the agriculture industry and enjoys balancing hands-on recruiting with employee-focused HR support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition (Approx. 50%)
- Manage full cycle recruiting for roles supporting agricultural operations, laboratory, field, and professional teams.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand seasonal, operational, and long-term workforce needs.
- Source candidates through job boards, referrals, community partnerships, agricultural networks, and educational institutions.
- Represent the organization at job fairs, career expos, and community outreach events to promote employment opportunities and strengthen our presence within the agriculture industry.
- Coordinate interviews, extend offers, and support onboarding to ensure a positive candidate experience.
- Maintain job postings, job descriptions, and recruiting metrics.
HR Generalist (Approx. 50%)
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions related to policies, benefits, and HR processes.
- Support employee relations matters, including coaching, documentation, and investigations in partnership with HR leadership.
- Assist with benefits administration, leave coordination, performance management, training initiatives and provide payroll support or assistance as needed.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Maintain accurate HRIS records and support offboarding and exit interviews.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-4 years of HR experience with hands-on recruiting responsibilities.
- Experience supporting hourly, operational, or field-based employees preferred.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
PREFERRED
- Experience in agriculture, agribusiness, laboratory, manufacturing, or a related industry.
