Title: HR Manager

Reporting to: VP of Human Resources Location: Remote Job Type: Full-Time


Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and results-driven HR Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional with comprehensive expertise in labor relations, employee relations, HR compliance, workers' compensation, and managing hourly employees. You will work closely with both management and employees to ensure a positive, compliant, and productive work environment. The HR Manager will also support HR initiatives that align with business goals, improve workforce effectiveness, and optimize HR processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Labor & Employee Relations

o Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance to both employees and management.

o Address employee concerns, grievances, and conflicts in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a positive working environment.

o Maintain compliance with labor laws and company policies, promoting fair and consistent treatment of employees.

2. Payroll & Compensation (Cross-Training Support)

o Receive cross-training on payroll functions and assist in the day-to-day payroll operations when needed.

3. Benefits Administration (Cross-Training Support)

o Be cross-trained on benefits management and assist in benefits enrollment, answering employee inquiries, and processing changes.

4. Workers' Compensation

o Manage the organization's workers' compensation program in accordance with federal and state regulations.

o Serve as the primary point of contact for employees with work-related injuries, guiding them through the claims process.

o Collaborate with insurance providers and medical professionals to ensure the timely and accurate processing of workers' compensation claims.

o Maintain up-to-date records and ensure compliance with applicable reporting requirements.

5. Process Improvement & Streamlining HR Functions

o Identify areas for improvement in existing HR processes and develop strategies to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.

o Lead initiatives aimed at automating tasks and enhancing service delivery across the organization.

6. Disciplinary Actions & Performance Management

o Advise on best practices for performance management, including coaching, performance evaluations, terminations and improvement plans.

o Ensure that disciplinary actions are documented and comply with company policies and legal requirements.

7. HR Laws & Compliance

o Stay current on changes to federal, state, and local labor laws, ensuring the organization's compliance with all applicable regulations.

o Provide expert advice on HR policies and legal compliance, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

8. Client & Cross-Department Collaboration

o Build and maintain strong relationships with external clients, vendors, and partners.

o Act as a liaison to ensure smooth communication between the HR department and external stakeholders.

o Collaborate with all departments within the organization-Finance, Operations, Sales, Recruiting, Directors, and others-to ensure HR strategies align with departmental needs and organizational objectives.

9. HR Strategy & General Administration

o Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, including employee files, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.

o Design and implement HR initiatives that improve employee engagement, productivity, and retention.

o Oversee the onboarding process for new hires and manage exit interviews to ensure a positive experience.


Qualifications:

� Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

� A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior HR role, with a focus on managing hourly employees.

� Strong knowledge of HR laws, labor relations, benefits administration, workers' compensation, and best practices.

� Experience supporting or assisting with payroll and benefits administration, with a willingness to be cross-trained in these areas.

� Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements to streamline HR functions.

� Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.

� Proficient in the use of HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.

� SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
