HR Leader

As a Full-Time Human Resources Manager, you will be a strategic leader within our credit union. You'll be responsible for building and executing staffing plans, managing employee relations, overseeing benefits and compensation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supervising HR team members. In addition to administrative duties, your interpersonal skills are essential in ensuring a positive and engaging employee experience, both in person and across digital communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute strategic staffing and succession planning initiatives.
  • Conduct onboarding for all new team members.
  • Provide coaching to executives and managers on employee relations and engagement practices.
  • Administer and promote benefits programs including:
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
    • 401(k)
    • Short- and long-term disability
    • COBRA and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Prepare compensation recommendations for:
    • Employment offers
    • Market adjustments
    • Performance evaluations
    • Budgeting and strategic planning
  • Oversee the performance review planning and execution process.
  • Supervise and develop the HR team:
    • HR Coordinator I
    • HR Coordinator II
    • Training Specialist
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance with all applicable federal and state HR laws and guidelines.
  • The ability to travel to and from the branches is required.
  • Provide backup support to HR team members as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of related HR experience, preferably in a generalist or managerial role.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree or
    • Two (2) formal certifications equivalent to a degree (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, IT certifications).
  • Skill Set:
    • Broad generalist knowledge across:
      • Personnel administration
      • Compensation & benefits
      • Training & development
      • Payroll
      • Employee relations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency with technology, including:
      • Computers
      • Tablets
      • Office equipment
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

Location: Administrative Office - Cuyahoga Heights Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:15 AM - 4:30 PM Reports To: COO
