Description

Join MAPEI Corporation, a global leader in manufacturing construction chemicals and building materials — including adhesives, sealants, and specialty products used in flooring, tile, and concrete restoration. We are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager, Plant to join our Corporate HR team.  The Human Resources Manager will lead key HR programs for multiple sites including talent acquisition support, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and learning and development initiatives. This role plays an important part in fostering a positive workplace culture while ensuring HR practices align with company policies and evolving employment regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to implement HR strategies that support employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness across corporate and field-based teams.
  • Oversee HR programs including employee relations, performance management, recognition initiatives, talent development, and workforce planning.
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and performance management while ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Support recruiting and staffing initiatives in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team to attract and retain high-quality talent.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions, including states with complex regulatory environments.
  • Assist in the administration and continuous improvement of HR programs including onboarding, learning and development, and career development initiatives.
  • Analyze HR trends and workforce data to support leadership decision-making and organizational planning.
  • Foster a positive associate relations environment that supports collaboration, accountability, and a strong company culture.
  • Perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience supporting corporate, commercial, or multi-location teams.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multi-state HR operations and navigating varying state employment regulations.
  • Working knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance requirements strongly preferred.
  • Experience advising managers on employee relations matters, performance management, and workplace investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of federal employment laws including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting geographically distributed teams.
  • Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel - low to moderate at times.
