Job Summary:

KBR is seeking a detail oriented, highly organized HR Specialist who will provide a blend of Human Resources support, Executive Assistant support to the Sr. HR Director, and operational assistance on talent development initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is proactive, and enjoys supporting both strategic HR functions and senior leadership operations.

Under direct supervision, the selected candidate will collaborate closely with HR leadership to perform routine HR assignments, maintain consistent processes, and deliver timely, accurate support to managers and employees. Responsibilities include executing established HR procedures, supporting senior leadership with administrative needs, and assisting in the coordination and delivery of talent development activities. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to navigate change while maintaining a high standard of service in a fast‑paced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Human Resources Support

  • Conduct new employee orientations and support all onboarding requirements, including I-9 processing and documentation management.
  • Reviewing and preparing offer letters and/or preparing salary analyses
  • Complete employment verifications, respond to unemployment claims, and maintain accurate employee records.
  • Pull, analyze, and report HR metrics using Workday.
  • Support monthly manager reviews, staff meetings, and HR projects using Excel, PowerPoint, and Workday.
  • Handle sensitive information with high levels of confidentiality and sound judgment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Executive Assistant Support to the Sr. HR Director

  • Provide proactive administrative support including complex calendar management and meeting coordination.
  • Arrange domestic and international travel itineraries.
  • Prepare presentations, briefing materials, and executive level reports for weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings.
  • Support internal and external communications on behalf of HR leadership.

Talent Development & Operations Support

  • Assist in implementing talent development initiatives across the business.
  • Support project tracking, deliverables, and alignment of priorities across teams.
  • Collaborate on learning programs, leadership development activities, and workforce development projects as bandwidth allows.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant Human Resources experience.
  • Experience with Workday or comparable HRIS tools.
  • Strong proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent organization, communication (written & verbal), and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a large engineering or professional services business with structured HR processes and policies is desired.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders or executives, including travel and calendar management.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prepare high quality presentations and briefing materials.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Exposure to talent development, learning & development, or other HR specialty areas.
  • SHRM/HR Certification

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday working in a professional office environment.
