BrightStar Care of Anchorage is looking for a skilled, part-time Human Resources Assistant to join our team! This position is primarily accountable to carry out the responsibilities of the following areas under the direction and supervision of the Branch Manager and Executive Leadership: support accurate HR documentation, assist with recruiting and onboarding workflows, maintain accurate employee records, and support compliance tracking for all local, state, federal and licensing regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with applicant screening, interview coordination, and onboarding workflows.
  • Prepare and collect new hire paperwork, verify accuracy, and ensure completion of required forms.
  • Conducts thorough and engaging employee orientations to properly on-board new hires.
  • Maintain organized and compliant employee personnel files, electronic records, and background check clearance according to company procedures.
  • Track employee training requirements, certifications, credentials, expiration dates, and other compliance indicators.
  • Provide routine HR support to employees by answering questions and directing them to appropriate resources.
  • Maintain basic awareness of HR compliance procedures (I-9, confidentiality, HIPAA) and follow established protocols.
  • Complete data entry, reporting, and documentation tasks related to HR and operations.
  • Effectively facilitates hiring and separation procedures.
  • Properly escalates concerns or irregularities to leadership.
  • Assist leadership with projects, forms, communications, and administrative tasks within scope of the position.

Schedule & Compensation:

  • 15-20 hours per week
  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • $22.00+ per hour DOE

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Human Resources, Office Administration, or Healthcare support required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems preferred.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and communicate effectively.

Office Environment
High-paced office/branch environment; continuous phone use/ringing; talking; various noise levels; interactions with employees and clients; sitting and standing for long periods of time; bending and stooping required; lifting up to 10 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. may be required; using a computer for extended periods: typing, staring at a bright monitor or TV screen; using fingers, wrists, and arms; stress on back may occur.
