Job Title: Human Resources Assistant


Job Summary: Responsible for providing timely and accurate support in the areas of training, onboarding, recruitment and staffing, employee relations, and other Human Resources related areas.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide support for Human Resources Department, to include VOE’s, reference checks, reports, research, onboarding, etc.
  • Handle travel arrangements for candidates traveling for interviews and for new hires traveling for new hire orientations.
  • Assist with coordination of interviews and new hire orientations.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding, to include auditing of employment documents.
  • Regularly audit employee records for past-due HR training (Prohibitive Harassment, Drug-Free Workplace, Ethics, and Position-Specific Orientation); prompt employees to complete, escalate as needed.
  • Answer Human Resources training related questions and direct questions concerning other training areas (e.g., Safety) to the appropriate individual.
  • Respond to routine employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Process per diem project transfers.
  • Set up and revise e-sig documents and other files in Alston’s HRIS.
  • Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, documents, and presentations as requested.
  • Assist in maintaining Human Resources pages of Company Intranet and Benefits Website/App.
  • Assist Vice President of Human Resources with HR audits and special projects as requested.
  • Assist with employee recognition (e.g., Administrative Professionals Day, Holidays, special events, etc.).
  • Order flowers/gifts (as applicable) for births and for deaths of employees/immediate family members.
  • Handle administration of Employee Service Awards (annual report upload, monthly report audit, notification to managers, bi-monthly checks of awards not yet redeemed, audit invoices, etc.).
  • Assist with annual performance review process.
  • Order updated legal posters for offices as applicable.
  • Assist with office luncheons and events (e.g. set up, ordering catering).
  • Handle office management needs for corporate (e.g. office and breakroom supplies and maintaining office space).
  • Participate in HR department meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education & Experience include:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field and a minimum of 1 year of Human Resources or related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
