Human Resources Assistant

Summary:

Demonstrates a “People First” approach as the HR Assistant at the Dickeyville Foundry by fostering respectful relationships and supporting collaboration. Works with the Human Resources Department to meet the needs of A.Y. Industries HR co-workers, reflecting the belief that “This Company Runs on People”.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers while promoting a “People First” approach
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Balance technical responsibilities with a service-oriented mindset to support co-workers and the organization
• Operate and route incoming calls, assisting callers professionally
• Administer and lead the co-worker attendance program
• Assist with FMLA claims for co-workers
• Prepare and process corrective actions for co-workers, track recurring violations, and maintain records in M-Files, UKG, and timesheets
• Administer the PTO program for co-workers, including daily monitoring of the PTO portal and weekly uploads to UKG
• Support payroll processes
• Manage the Perfect Attendance Award program
• Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail and route outgoing mail
• Prepare and post co-worker announcements electronically and on bulletin boards
• Coordinate co-worker engagement activities in Dickeyville
• Lead ticket and event giveaway programs
• Administer co-worker recognition programs in Dickeyville
• Assist with preparation and coordination of Dickeyville new hire orientations
• Maintain emergency evacuation bags
• Manage office supply and Amazon orders
• Maintain petty cash records and reconciliation
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; 1–3 years of experience in HR or administrative support is desired. Relevant internships or HRIS experience a plus.

This position will begin with training at the Dubuque, Iowa factory and foundry, followed by a transition to full-time employment at the Dickeyville Foundry.
