The HR Business Partners are responsible for all Talent Acquisition, Talent Management (Performance Management and Employee Relations), Compliance, and Employee Engagement. This position reports directly to the Deputy Director of HR and works alongside four HR Business Partners and a Recruiter.
This role offers a hybrid work schedule, with a balance of remote flexibility and in-person engagement to ensure meaningful relationships within the HR team and across the organization.

Position Summary:
The HR Assistant is responsible for a variety of routine and specialized, confidential Human Resources support functions such as, but not limited to : supporting the HRBP team in talent acquisition, recruitment, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, personnel policies, compliance and employment law.

Performs a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of human resources activities and operations.
Responsible for the administrative functions of the recruitment process to include extending formal offers, background checks, reference checks, onboarding paperwork, scheduling physicals, etc.
Assists the HRBP with the administrative functions of employee relations, including gathering and analyzing data, taking notes during interviews, sending notices, etc.
Responsible for creating, managing, and auditing all compliance related documents such as mandatory training, DOT files for CDL drivers,fingerprints etc.
Assists with various onboarding and orientation activities for new hires.
Participates in recruitment activities and meetings as needed to support organizational staffing needs.
Assists in the coordination and collection of human resources data and prepares reports.
Completes surveys and responds to requests for information from internal and external customers.
Researches, collects, and compiles information from various sources for a variety of human resources functions.
Compiles, drafts, creates, edits and maintains HR communications, documents, marketing materials, presentations, websites, intranet pages, social media, etc.
Reviews, processes and provides assistance in the completion of human resources forms and related documents for compliance with applicable procedures and policies.
Interprets policies and procedures.
Retains and purges documents in accordance with record retention policies and regulations.
Troubleshoots and responds to human resources related service requests.
Assists with scheduling meetings, events, interviews, testing, etc.
Provides assistance and back up support to other members of the HR team.
Typically involves some project work

Education
High School Diploma required
Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field - preferred
Relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, HRIP, HR Technology certifications) - preferred
Experience
2 years related experience required, preferably in an HR department.
Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry.

Work is generally scheduled Monday-Friday.
