Human Resources Assistant I

About the Role
The Human Resources Assistant I plays a key role in supporting daily HR operations and delivering an exceptional team member experience. This position provides administrative and operational support across multiple HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, team member relations, internal communications, and engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality while delivering outstanding service.
What Youโll Do
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Champion and uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of WarHorse Gaming, LLC
- Serve as the first point of contact for the HR office by greeting visitors, answering phones, and assisting applicants and team members
- Support recruitment efforts, including application assistance, administering assessments, and coordinating interviews and talent auditions
- Assist with New Hire Orientation and onboarding processes
- Maintain accurate employee records, data entry, and HR systems (HCMS, ATS, LMS)
- Manage team member and vendor badges, gaming licensing, and renewals
- Prepare reports, conduct basic research, and support HR projects
- Maintain HR office, lobby, and team member areas to ensure they are clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Assist with internal communications, including employee portals, postings, and compliance notices
- Coordinate team member engagement, wellness, and retention events
- Reserve meeting rooms, training spaces, and audio-visual equipment
- Monitor and replenish department supplies
- Respond to team member inquiries and escalate concerns as needed
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information
- Deliver exceptional guest and team member service aligned with company standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
What Weโre Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years of HR assistant or coordinator experience
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with HR systems such as HCMS, ATS, or LMS
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
Preferred Qualifications:
- Facilitation or presentation experience
- Experience in hospitality, gaming, or high-volume environments

Work Environment & Schedule
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Work is primarily performed in an office and casino environment
- Exposure to secondhand smoke and moderate noise levels may occur
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the property and remain on feet for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally
- Strong visual, auditory, and communication abilities required
- Capable of maintaining focus and productivity in a fast-paced environment
Licensing & Certifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 3 Nebraska Gaming License
