Position Overview

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Human Resources Assistant in the Department of Human Resources. The consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general supervision, performs administrative support in one or more functional areas of Human Resources; provides customer service and assistance to City employees and the general public; and performs related duties as assigned.


Position Information:
  • This is a part-time, non-PERS eligible position
  • This position will work approximately 19 hours per week (Monday - Thursday)
  • This list established from this recruitment may be utilized to fill vacancies in various HR Division including: HR Administration, Recruitment & Talent Acquisition, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent 
  • One (1) year of office administrative/customer service experience in a Human Resources, or similar, environment
  • Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered  
  • Proficiency in keyboarding sufficient to type 35 net words per minute 
  • Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check
  • Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every two years. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment

Initial Skills-Based Keyboarding Examination* (Pass/Fail) - Qualified candidates will be sent a link to complete the virtual keyboarding examination at the closing of this job posting. Candidates will have a minimum of 24-hours to complete this virtual assessment.
