Regular Part-Time, Non-Exempt

$12 per hour


Actively hiring for Summer 2026

  • Ability to commit a minimum of 12hrs/week during the school year, with a preference of 15-20hrs/week.
  • Students are eligible to work up to 40 hours/week during the summer, based on departmental needs. Preference given to students eligible to work a minimum of 20hrs/week.

The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and project support to the Talent, Culture, and HR team. This position will work with departments across the organization to support all functions of human resources.


A day in the life of a human resources assistant could be:


Employee Engagement

Create an electronic monthly newsletter for the organization utilizing Marketing Cloud. Assist with regular engagement activity planning and execution, annual events such as Fall Festival, Holiday Brunch, Employee Appreciation Week, etc. Coordinate and distribute employee recognition for employment anniversaries each month. Coordinate and execute regular student engagement activities.


Recruiting and Onboarding

Assist with recruitment activities such as job advertisements, talent sourcing, interview schedules, and reference checks. Assist with onboarding including new employee setup within HRIS, submitting helpdesk tickets for workstation setup, ordering necessary supplies and signage, reviewing new hire paperwork, and creating first day schedules.


General human resources support

Create and maintain electronic employment records. Execute all verifications of employment. Provide administrative and clerical support to the Talent, Culture, and HR team, including filing, setting appointments, producing correspondence, imaging documents and working on special projects as assigned.


Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in coursework at Kansas State University
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills as this position will interact with individuals at every level of the organization
  • Confidentiality important
  • Attentive to detail
  • A valid motor vehicle operator’s license and acceptable driving record
