Overview

The HR Business Partner supports the company by promoting, communicating, and implementing human resources strategies and initiatives; performs various human resources duties in areas such as compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, HRIS, or other special projects: and partners with management teams to facilitate the delivery of HR services as appropriate. The HR Business Partner also serves as contact for employees and answers questions regarding HR policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver effective, relevant HR solutions, produce results through project management, facilitation, and communication expertise.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business goals and provide strategic, tactical alignment of HR actions, support, programs, and resources adapting as needed to achieve desired results.
  • Coach managers and employees regarding conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Guide, direct, and train managers and employees on the execution of legally compliant HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across the organization.
  • Engage and influence management to support and implement HR initiatives across all areas.
  • Provide HR expertise in handling employee relations, and daily support.
  • Conduct timely employee investigations and prepare accurate, comprehensive documentation.
  • Develop effective HR analytics tools, processes, and metrics for continual quality improvement.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner with legal department as needed/required
  • Build strong partnerships with client groups at all levels

Qualifications

  • Canada employment law experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience effectively resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Highly competent in various HR functional areas: employee relations, management coaching, organizational development, HR industry applicable laws and regulations including broad-based knowledge of employment laws and best practices.
  • Must be organized, accurate, take initiative and follow through on responsibilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, relationship-building, and diplomatic communication skills (verbal, written, 1:1, group meetings) with the ability to guide and positively influence employee relationships.
  • Strong skills to manage multiple projects with the ability to prioritize, organize, and maintain details.
  • Proven effective consulting and change management experience with the courage to appropriately challenge organizational thinking.
  • Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate strong, positive, engaging, articulate facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Able to adapt to the needs of the organization and teams, agile and resourceful.
  • Effective team member and collaborator with internal and external customers.
  • Highly skilled in MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Able to quickly learn/utilize the HRIS, talent management, and job-related computer programs.

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Human Resources: 3 - 5 years
  • Employee relations: 3 - 5 years
