A Day in the Life of a Regional Human Resources Business Partner

As an HR Business Partner, your day begins by connecting with leaders across the organization to understand their strategic goals and how HR can support them. You act as a trusted advisor to senior management, offering insight on talent management, employee relations, and performance development to help build a high-performing and engaged workforce. You are not only reacting to current issues but proactively identifying areas where HR practices can support long-term business objectives.

Throughout the day, you collaborate closely with department managers, offering support and guidance on HR policies, coaching leaders through sensitive employee situations, and helping resolve complex challenges in ways that align with company values. Your role is critical in ensuring that HR strategies are not just understood but embedded into the day-to-day operations of each team.

You play a key role in the design and implementation of initiatives like workforce and succession planning, helping ensure the company is prepared for growth and leadership transitions. You also drive efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion, helping to create a workplace where every employee feels valued. Whether you're facilitating organizational development sessions, analyzing workforce data, or helping craft strategic people initiatives, you are a vital bridge between human resources and business strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Build trust among leaders and provide coaching on a variety of employee management and people operations scenarios
  • Be a champion of learning and development and partner with leaders and teams to ensure employees are engaged and empowered to grow with First Onsite
  • Stay current with current HR trends, laws, compliance, and policies, and advise regional/global business units on these areas, guiding the business's legal, fiduciary, and administrative responsibilities are met.
  • Assist in measuring and validating HR projects and outcomes as they relate to the success of the business
  • Partner with leaders in the region to identify talent gaps and work to create strategic plans to close these gaps and oversee the execution of the strategy
  • Lead employee relations and conflict issues in partnership with regional business leaders
  • Influence the strategy, planning, and execution of regional people operations initiatives
  • Work closely with Operations, Sales, and HR leaders to ensure workforce planning, employee initiatives, and succession planning are aligned and efficient
  • Implement strategic initiatives to improve people KPIs and financial bottom line
  • Lead employee relations investigations
  • Oversee talent lifecycle, including successful onboarding, employee development, performance improvement, and terminations/departures from the company
  • Some travel (25%) within respective regions is encouraged and expected

Experience & Education:

  • 7 or more years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • 3 or more years of experience partnering with a business unit or team in developing, implementing, and executing people strategy
  • Experience working with cross-functional, multi-layered teams
  • Proven track record of coaching and influencing teams
  • Proven track record for creating exceptional workplace cultures and employee experiences
  • Bachelor's degree
  • HRCI and/or SHRM certification, highly preferred
