Muir Wood Teen Treatment is a leading provider of residential and outpatient behavioral healthcare for teens ages 12–17. With programs in Sonoma County, Clovis, and Riverside, we specialize in treating primary mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.

The HR Business Partner is a hands-on, people-focused role supporting frontline leaders and teammates across the organization. This position partners closely with managers to address employee relations issues early, administer leaves of absence and workers’ compensation, and ensure consistent, fair, and compliant people practices. The HRBP serves as a trusted resource for both managers and teammates—helping navigate day-to-day HR matters, strengthening manager confidence, and reinforcing a respectful, supportive workplace culture. This role is execution-focused, with clear priorities and support from senior HR leadership, and offers the opportunity to grow in scope as the organization continues to scale.


Requirements

Employee Relations & Manager Support

  • Serve as a trusted HR partner to managers and teammates, providing guidance on performance, conduct, and workplace concerns.
  • Support early issue resolution through coaching, clear expectations, and consistent follow-up.

Leaves, Workers’ Compensation & Compliance

  • Manage day-to-day administration of leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, disability, and company leaves), including documentation and tracking.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims, return-to-work plans, and modified duty options.

Policies, Processes & People Operations

  • Support the implementation and ongoing use of HR policies and procedures related to employment practices, wages, and benefits.
  • Partner with HR leadership to update policies and ensure consistent application across teams.
  • Track employee relations trends and flag patterns or risks for proactive intervention.

Training & Frontline Leader Development

  • Deliver targeted training and resources for managers on topics such as performance management, documentation, compliance, and respectful workplace practices.
  • Coach new and frontline leaders to build confidence in people management fundamentals.
  • Reinforce learning through follow-up, tools, and practical guidance in real situations.

HR Projects & Cross-Functional Support

  • Support HR initiatives such as policy rollouts, training efforts, and process improvements.
  • Manage timelines and communication for assigned projects, ensuring clear follow-through and practical outcomes.

Qualifications:

5–7 years of HR experience in a professional HR role, emphasis in employee relations and managing leaves of absence programs. Experience in training and facilitation is a plus.


Experience with an HRIS or other Learning Management Systems; Paylocity a plus. 


Travel = 10% within CA
