The Human Resources Business Partner will be a champion of the Flintco ethos and partner with their assigned business leaders to help them build, nurture and cultivate their project and management teams. The HRBP will be a local leader, team and organizational consultant, to help create People Solutions for Flintco, and collaborate with the national HR group. This will require you to think national, and local, use strategy to guide your work, be comfortable challenging convention, and in some cases reinvent how work is done.  As a core part of this work, you will be helping support Flintco and its leaders navigate and resolve people issues, in addition to rolling out programs to support the respective Area Offices - including compensation, recruitment, performance and talent programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities include the following, however, other duties may be assigned. To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  

  • Be embedded in the business leadership as a trusted advisor

  • Leverages strategic approach while providing organizational, team and individual consulting services.
  • Works closely with Area Manager, regional leadership, and managers to provide coaching at all levels
  • Drives strategic talent priorities, employee engagement and organizational effectiveness including 9 box and succession meetings at a local level and in conjunction with corporate talent management resources
  • Delivers teaming / partnering services internally as well as with external partners
  • Drives solutions-focused change throughout business.
  • Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills and critical thinking to methodically break down problems into components to discover root causes
  • Demonstrates systemic thinking and the ability to think holistically ahead and anticipate potential implications of what is happening in the business, understanding its impacts on the organization, or parts of, and develop solutions to capitalize on/account for
  • Partners within and across Area Offices to deliver the employee experience.
  • Drives alignment with our culture and values throughout the organization
  • A team player that proactively develops and uses collaborative and cooperative relationships to deliver our Great People strategy
  • Liaison for HR-related services for employees and the business.
  • Builds and ensures alignment within HR functions to design and deliver HR programs that are linked to business performance
  • Supports alignment within and across Area Offices as well as with IT, Communications, Payroll, etc.
  • Leverages the enterprise resources, yet adapts services to directly address local business needs
  • Effectively communicates with all levels of the respective organization.
  • Identifies and puts into words questions around needs of the business, trust, feelings and responsibility as well as needs and assumptions of oneself
  • Summarizes important points or messages, framing the message to the audience using meaningful terms and examples
  • Develops data-supported conclusions and action plans.
  • Informs the business with workforce insights that predict patterns and behavior that are linked to business performance
  • Organizes, interprets and presents complex sets of data in simplified and conclusive manner
  • Leverages KPIs and benchmarks to drive action and higher organizational performance
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, deadlines and confidentiality are key.
  • Has a BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.  A degree in human resources management, labor relations or a related field of study, in particular a Masters degree and/or JD is highly preferred.
  • Has 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline plus five years relevant experience in human resources supporting multiple office locations.

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in human resources or an equivalent combination of education/experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Driver(s) License

PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP a plus.

SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS:

The office work environment provides a safe and healthy environment, is adequately heated and cooled, is free from exposure and extreme conditions, has appropriate lighting and office furnishings, and is smoke-free and drug-free.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is normally exposed to a standard office environment.  While performing the duties of this position at a project site, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; moving machinery; high, precarious places; close tight quarters;  the requirement to be raised and lowered several hundred feet in a bucket; the requirement to walk several hundred feet over rough terrain at an 8 to 16 degree slope; the potential for falling rock; fumes or airborne particles; drilling and blasting activities; welding activities; toxic or caustic chemicals; and outside weather conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is generally loud.

Flintco offers base compensation for the Denver area of $100,000 to $130,000.00 (Actual compensation may be affected by factors such as education, experience, skillset and/or location.)
