General Position Summary & Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a key role in supporting leaders and employees by helping identify talent needs, assisting with workforce planning, and contributing to HR programs that drive team effectiveness and employee engagement.

This role works closely with HR colleagues and department managers to understand business needs and provide guidance on HR processes. The HRBP may help coordinate projects and contribute to the development and implementation of programs, policies, and initiatives.

Success in this role requires a strong understanding of HR fundamentals, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to use data and feedback to support decision-making and problem-solving.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Performance Management
    • Support leaders in identifying and addressing performance challenges
    • Help coordinate goal setting, feedback cycles, and performance reviews
    • Assist with pay planning processes in partnership with HR and compensation teams
  • Workforce Planning & Development
    • Partner with managers to assess talent needs and identify development opportunities
    • Support succession planning and individual development planning efforts
    • Provide coaching and guidance to employees and managers on growth and performance
    • Help facilitate improvement plans for underperforming employees
  • Staffing & Onboarding
    • Assist managers with job design and requisition creation
    • Collaborate with recruiting teams to support candidate sourcing and selection
    • Participate in interview panels and provide input on candidate fit
    • Help customize onboarding plans and ensure smooth transitions for new hires
    • Conduct new hire orientations and support employee integration
  • Compensation
    • Monitor compensation trends and support market analysis
    • Partner with compensation and HRIS teams to ensure accurate job classifications and pay practices
    • Help resolve payroll and data-related issues in collaboration with internal teams
  • Labor Relations
    • Support interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements
    • Help coach managers on contract compliance and positive employee relations
    • Assist with grievance resolution and labor-related investigations
    • Participate in labor relations planning and support negotiations as needed
  • Employee Relations
    • Serve as a resource for employee concerns and workplace issues
    • Support managers in resolving employee relations matters
    • Assist with investigations and documentation of sensitive issues
  • Organization Design
    • Help identify organizational challenges and support improvement efforts
    • Collaborate with HR and business leaders on team structure and role clarity
  • Team Effectiveness
    • Support assessments of team dynamics and effectiveness
    • Help facilitate conversations to improve collaboration and resolve conflicts
  • Culture & Engagement
    • Assist in gathering employee feedback and identifying engagement trends
    • Support initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture
  • HR Operations
    • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and compliance matters
    • Review personnel actions for accuracy and alignment with company standards
    • Help maintain HR records and support reporting needs

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience supporting unionized environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Comfortable working with data and presenting insights to stakeholders
  • Eager to learn and grow within a dynamic HR team
